Drum Major Club

San Mateo High School is the only high school in the San Mateo Union High School District to have a Drum Major Club. These talented drum majors compete in various divisions in the Northern California Band Association.

The San Mateo High School Drum Major Club competed in their first championships at the 2005 Northern California Band Association Winterguard, Winter Percussion, and Drum Major Championships held at Golden Valley High School in Merced, CA. They compete throughout the bay area with other bay area high school drum majors. The Winter Drum Major season stretches from mid-February to early April.

This dedicated club practices outside the regular school day, when schedules permit. No experience is necessary. Anyone who is dedicated, hard working, wants to have fun, and is willing to practice is encouraged to join.

Enrollment in the Marching Band is required to participate.
